A main deliverable of the Books for All project is the Books for All Database.

The Books for All database enables teachers and other education practitioners to search for, and download books, and other printed materials in adapted, accessible formats for print disabled pupils. The database provides:

• A securely authenticated database for storing educational books and materials that have been adapted for print disabled pupils.
• A search facility for practitioners to quickly check if the materials they require are already available for sharing across Scottish Local Authorities
• A streamlined and efficient way for Local Authorities to share adapted resources.

The Books for All Database is accessed via Glow, the secure intranet for Scottish Schools. 

The Books for All project uses Glow to enable practitioners to discuss and share knowledge about adapted resources, which can be developed and added to the database.  The Books for All project team is now exploring ways in which it can develop partnerships with publishers to distribute their accessible materials through the secure authentication offered by the Books for All database.
